Pre-Contract information

Pre-Contract Information given by James Broadbent Plumbing and Heating Ltd to
You, the recipient of this email.

We are going to provide you with plumbing and/ or gas services.

At any time if you choose to cancel, you must do so in writing to james@scunthorpeplumber.com. You will be liable for any cost of materials, restocking charges and labour up to the point of cancellation plus any incurred costs from returning goods.
We do not offer a guarantee on existing pipework and system components that were fit prior to us undertaking work at your property. This includes existing wiring not installed by ourselves.
Occasionally when a boiler is replaced, the existing gas pipe may be found to be undersized once the boiler is tested, this may require some adjustments to the gas pipework that is not included unless specifically quoted.
Please note that our boiler quotes include the price of connecting the boiler to the nearest power supply. If existing wiring is not up to current standards or if it is found that further electrical works are needed, we will not be liable for the costs of these.
Where pipes are removed and holes remain, we may attempt to make good by using caulk, please note that this will not give a perfect finish and a plasterer may be needed in order to achieve the desired finish, we will not be liable for the cost of this.
If as part of our works, we are required to lift carpets and take up floorboards or chipboard floors, please note that we will make every reasonable effort to put them back as they originally were. However, you may need a carpet fitter to achieve a satisfactory end result, we will not be liable for the cost of this.
If, as part of your boiler installation, you require a powerflush, please note that there is a small risk that it could aggravate any pre-existing leaks or weak joints.

It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that all appliances and heating controls are accessible and in good working condition prior to our arrival. Any additional charges incurred due to inaccessibility or malfunctioning of appliances will be billed at our standard commercial hourly rate.

We strongly recommend that someone who knows how to operate the heating system is available at the time of our visit. If not, additional time may be required to familiarise ourselves with the system, resulting in extra charges at our standard commercial hourly rate.

Any delays or cancellations due to inaccessibility or malfunctioning of appliances will result in additional charges at our standard commercial hourly rate.

It is the customer's responsibility to inform us of any changes to the heating system or appliances prior to our arrival. Failure to do so may result in additional charges at our standard commercial hourly rate.

We reserve the right to refuse service if the heating system or appliances are deemed unsafe or in need of repair. Any charges for the time taken to that point are the responsibility of the customer.
