Breakdown and service engineer

What we are looking for:

We are looking for someone who is gas safe registered that is looking to train as a breakdown and service engineer.

You might be fitting boilers day in day out. It’s hard work.

Unless you’ve had specific training, you may not have a solid understanding of service and repair. It’s taken me 20 years of training courses, reading books, going on forums, tech help lines and learning on the job. I’ve wasted so many hours staring at a boiler not having a clue because I wasn’t shown in depth. I had to teach myself.

In our training centre, we have loads of boilers set up and I have loads of in-depth information I want to deliver.

How you will progress:

Your first week you would spend going over various boilers, servicing them over and over with one of our experienced engineers. Learning different models. Common faults. Regulations. Sequence of operation. Principles. Basic Y and S-plan electrics.

Then you will go out for a few days a week 1 on 1 with a few of our engineers to get a feel for how they service and repair boilers, and how they do landlord checks.
Then you will be given simple jobs and work up from there.
You will have support from us via phone and WhatsApp.
Start off on smaller jobs and work your way up.

To transition from boiler slinger to service and breakdown engineer will take  around 6-12 months. Whilst doing this you will be fitting boilers maybe 1-2 days a week with the rest of the team. We run monthly training sessions where we all share ideas between ourselves.

About you:

We would like to find someone that shares our values of building long lasting relationships with customers, someone who is friendly and courteous, works well as part of a team and who is looking for long term progression within a great company.
